A little production magic

BroadcastWitch is four small programs written by a production company that got tired of doing this work by hand. They run on your own machine, they write standard files that open in the software you already use, and then they get out of the way.

You cut it live, the rushes are already sorted.

It sits next to your Blackmagic Design ATEM and records every take, transition, key and marker to the frame. When the show ends it hands you a multi-track timeline that opens in DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, with each camera's ISO already attached.

Hand it the recording of a council meeting, a board or an assembly, forty minutes or six hours. It gives back a clickable, timecoded agenda page ready to publish, a summary of each item, the outcome of every vote with the sentence that produced it, subtitles, a YouTube chapter block and chapter markers for the edit. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

One click on a name, and the room is covered.

A room full of elected members, several PTZ cameras, one operator who is also cutting the show. BW Coven makes the room the primary object: positions belong to the room, geometry decides which camera takes the close-up, and the lower third for whoever sits there is already on the rail.

You drive one camera. The others follow.

In sport the action never comes back to the same place, so presets are useless and you would need one operator per head. BW Familiar asks for one: you drive the tight camera at the panel, and the other cameras hold the same subject, each from where it stands. Take one back by hand and it releases itself.

  • Two modes: a taught envelope, or a field point each camera aims at
  • Parallax of side and facing cameras is settled
  • Zoom is never replicated: a wide stays wide
  • Drivable with a PS5 controller: sticks, presets and eight buttons

No account, no upload, no cloud service in the middle. BW Logger talks to your switcher on your own network; BW Minutes transcribes on the computer in front of you.

Activate once, then offline

A license needs the internet exactly once. After that the machine runs offline indefinitely, with no expiry and no periodic check that could strand you mid-show.

Standard files, not a walled garden

FCPXML, EDL, SRT, WebVTT, JSON, CSV, plain HTML. Everything they write opens somewhere else, and keeps working if we vanish.

Paid once, or by what you use

BW Logger and BW Coven are one-time purchases. BW Minutes is a monthly plan, because it is priced by the meetings you process and that grows with your client book.

Built by people who use them

Line Media films live events for a living. Each of these started as a tool we needed on a job, which is why they solve the awkward parts rather than the demo-friendly ones.

We say what they cannot do

BW Coven's page shows the shot assignment being made rather than claiming it. BW Minutes publishes no accuracy percentage until we have measured one properly. Straight answers are cheaper than support tickets.

Who we are

Line Media, Lyon.

Line Media is a French production company in Lyon. We film live events, sport and conferences, and we cut them afterwards, which is how each of these tools came to exist: something in the workflow was being done by hand, repeatedly, badly, at midnight.

BroadcastWitch is the name we publish them under. If one of them is close to what you need but not quite it, write and say so, because that is roughly how all three got their most useful features.
